Apprenticeship-to-Career Empowerment (ACE) Program 2.0



CareerSource Tampa Bay in partnership with Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners is happy to announce the start of our ACE program called ACE 2.0 with changes and enhancements. We are open for application and accepting program registration.

Kick - Start your career by earning a credential in as little as 12 weeks while building your resume earning $15/hr in a paid work experience. This program offers tuition assistance, preparation to start work, and a paid work experience with a Hillsborough County employer. Industries will include IT, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Finance.


BACKGROUND

CareerSource is happy to announce the ACE Program was approved to continue and ACE 2.0 kicks off in April 2020. The ACE Program was created so that the youth of Hillsborough County have the resources to connect to a career ladder with future, self-sustaining wages, employment security and the training to succeed in industries with high-demand occupations such as IT, Health Care, and Manufacturing.

The program is designed to reach out to young adults in low-income households, especially those exiting the foster care system and those escaping from human trafficking, to connect them with apprenticeship opportunities and occupational skills training. These opportunities serve as meaningful work experiences with local employers and will result in industry-recognized certifications and a pathway for a brighter future.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 18-24 years of age Hillsborough County Resident Meet U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the US Meet selective service registration requirements (males born after 12/31/59) Low-Income ACE Poverty guidelines

ACE Online Registration and Pre-screen

To start the registration and enrollment process for the ACE Training program, applicants will need to fully complete the ACE registration and prescreen below. Once completed, you will be assigned to an ACE Coach who will contact you about your next steps within two (2) business days. The ACE program is based upon eligibility and staff will work with each applicant to go thru application and eligibility determination. ACE PROGRAMS

All ACE programs has been expanded to now run as long as 14 to 15 weeks and now offers a three-step process, skills training, and paid work experience. You can plan to:

  • Register for training with a local training provider

  • Obtain employability skills, interview and worksite preparation and get ready to meet with your worksite employer

  • Interview with a local employer who will provide worksite or “hands-on” training

Training Programs Available:


  • Digital Marketing: 8 weeks

  • Cyber Security: 12 weeks

  • Front End or Software Development: 12 weeks

  • Business Operations Specialist: 9 weeks

  • Aircraft Electronics Technician: 12 weeks

  • CNC – Milling, Programming and Operations: 10 week program

  • TechWorks – Help Desk, IT Support Specialists: 12 week program
